This series of workshops is a continuing professional development opportunity for learning mentors, aimed at developing ways of thinking about the mental health and emotional well-being of primary and secondary school pupils, and different ways in which learning mentors work with such young people in school settings.

• Gain a better understanding of child and adolescent mental health issues in school settings
• Reflect on your role in schools
• Gain an understanding of the complex issues involved in working with children, young people and families in schools
• Explore an understanding of the benefits and challenges of multidisciplinary and multi-agency working
• Reduce work-related stress through reflecting on your work experiences and gaining support from others working in this area
• Apply psychological ideas in context
• Understand the impact of mental health issues at a child, family and school level
• Understand the emotional impact on individuals working with young people with emotional and psychological needs
