Course aims
• Develop, enhance and validate your professional, multidisciplinary and research practice in working with children, adolescents, families and organisations within a changing educational context.
Is this course for you?
• For educational psychologists with at least two years post-qualifying experience. Selection will be based on your suitability for advanced professional practice and evidence of your ability to undertake
doctoral research.
• The course welcomes participants bringing a variety of perspectives and will focus on developing a systemic and/or psychodynamic understanding of the issues facing educational psychologists. This
is achieved through advanced theoretical study and understanding of systemic and psychodynamic theories central to child, family and educational psychology, choice of modules in key areas of concern focusing on the development of professional practice in the workplace, taught module on research methodology design and practice and a research thesis grounded in everyday practice.
Time commitment
Four years. One Tuesday per month for the first two years.
Supervision by arrangement for the second two years.
Additional time will depend on the optional modules taken.
Assessment
Applied Psychology Assignments Research thesis.
• Leads to eligibility for membership of the Tavistock Society of Psychotherapists, Allied Professional Division.
