Is this course for you?

• At least three years practice experience since qualification and to be in full-time or part-time posts in which they are working with children and/or families experiencing difficulties.

• Specifically aimed at child primary mental health workers, but of interest to anyone working in primary care who would like to develop their knowledge, skills and practice capabilities in the field; practitioners in social work, nursing, child and adolescent mental health and the newly emerging CAMHS workforce.

• Progression onto years two and three of M42 requires successful completion of the first year of Emotional Well-being in Children and Families: Interprofessional Practice (D42).

Time commitment
Three years. Year one and two - one day per week. Year three - the completion of a research dissertation is supported through individual and group tutorials but largely involves self directed study. In the first year additional time will be required to undertake a young child observation and a period of therapeutic practice.

In the second year, placement in a clinical team as a clinical associate will require clinical work continuing on study days beyond the academic term.
