Tavistock Certificate in Psychodynamic Psychotherapy for Child and Adolescent Psychiatrists (M14)

This is a course for Child Psychiatrists who wish, as part of their specialist training, to further their knowledge and obtain skills in psychodynamic psychotherapy.

Course aims

• Expand and develop your theoretical and practical skills.

Is this course for you?

• A qualification in psychiatry and some experience with children, adolescents and their parents is required.

• Previous recognised experience will be accepted and will not need to be repeated.

• Participants are likely to be psychiatrists in salaried training posts or fee-paying clinical associates who may undertake their clinical work in the Tavistock Clinic or another setting.

Time commitment

Three years, one day per week. You will need to be in personal analysis.

Assessment

• Leads to eligibility for membership of the Tavistock Society of Psychotherapists, Child and Adolescent Psychotherapist Division (if a paper on an aspect of work is accepted).
