This is a two year, part time course leading to a Postgraduate Diploma with the possibility of an MA. It is aimed principally at those working specialist eating disorder services.

Course aims
• Consider the symptoms of the eating disorder in terms of the underlying difficulties the patient may have in making and sustaining relationships.
• Observe and explore continuities between past and present, infant and adult experience.
• Apply psychoanalytic principles and ideas to an understanding of eating disorders.
Is this course for you?
• Intended for specialist workers in the field of eating disorders following any of the core interventions outlined in the NICE guidance (Clinical Guideline 9).
• Suitable for nurses, dieticians, doctors, psychologists and other clinical staff.
• You should have at least one years experience of working with patients with eating disorders or feeding difficulties.
• Leads to eligibility for membership of the Tavistock Society of Psychotherapists, Allied Professional Division.
Time commitment
11.30am - 4.30pm, Thursdays. Two years (with one additional term for the dissertation). Assessment. Three pieces of written work per year.
