Postgraduate Diploma/MA in The Foundations of Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy (D58)

This is a two year part-time taught programme leading to a Postgraduate Diploma with the possibility of an MA. It is aimed principally at mental health workers in the NHS and voluntary sector.

Course aims

• Achieve an introduction to the theory and practice of psychoanalytic psychotherapy.

• Find new ways of thinking about clinical work.

• Be a more reflective practitioner.

Is this course for you?

• Aimed at nurses, psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers or others with a special interest in psychotherapy.

• Applicants should be working in NHS-related public organisations or the voluntary sector.

• Recommended as a CPD course by the British Psychological Society.

• You need to be in personal therapy for a minimum of once a week.

• A further two years (in addition to the above) is offered to students.

Time commitment
Two years. 11.15am - 4.45pm, Wednesdays. Dissertation in year three.

Assessment
Three pieces of written work per year. Leads to eligibility for membership of the Tavistock Society of Psychotherapists, Affiliate Adult Psychotherapist Division.

 

Postgraduate Diploma/MA in The Foundations of Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy - Leeds Programme (D58L)

This two year part-time taught programme is identical to Postgraduate Diploma/MA in The Foundations of Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy (D58). It leads to a Postgraduate Diploma with the possibility of an MA. It is aimed principally at mental health workers in the NHS and voluntary sector but is delivered in Leeds.
