• Develop practical counselling skills within a workshop framework.
• Increase your understanding of cultural and organisational settings
• Develop insight and self knowledge in relation to the professional task.
• Lay a foundation for career progression towards becoming a bilingual counsellor.
Is this course for you?
• Designed for refugees who wish to work with counselling skills or to train as bilingual counsellors within their own communities.
• You will be a refugee yourself, bilingual and working with refugee communities, either as a volunteer or as a paid worker.
• You will have proven commitment to community work.
• You will need to show a genuine interest in counselling.
• Your English language skills will be advanced enough to meet higher education requirements.
• You will be in a stable situation, which will allow you to meet
the considerable academic and emotional demands of the course.
• You will be able to attend a minimum of 80% of the course as well as completing the written components, within set deadlines.
