This course is a continuing professional development opportunity for professionals/managers from health, social, education and related services. It will focus on developing an understanding of systemic theory and its applications to professional contexts.

Course aims
• Develop theoretical framework needed to explore perspectives for professionals working with or wanting to work with individuals, couples, families, work groups and organisations.
• Apply systemic ideas to your current practice.
• Experience the application of systemic ideas in the context of your teaching and learning.
• Explore contemporary developments and practice.
Is this course for you?
• Suitable for professionals and managers from health, social, education and related services.
• A previous discipline (social work, nursing, teaching, medicine, psychology, psychiatry or counselling) or the ability to demonstrate equivalent levels of knowledge and skills is required for an introductory training experience in systemic thinking and practice.
• You must be working with families in either your work context or a placement (Postgraduate Diploma).
• 60 hours of clinical practice are required (Diploma).
• Also available in Sussex, Oxford and Kent.

Time commitment
London; Postgraduate Certificate - 90 hours per year.
Postgraduate Diploma - 118 hours per year.
Kent; Postgraduate Diploma - 118 hours per year.
Sussex; Postgraduate Certificate - 90 hours per year
Oxford; Postgraduate Diploma - 118 hours per year.
Assessment
Year one - two submissions.
Year two - one submission and a clinical viva.
• Leads to eligibility for membership of the Tavistock Society of Psychotherapists, Allied Professional Division.
