Provides a foundation for the understanding of psychodynamic ideas in the work place relating specifically to children, adolescents and their families. It focuses on the processes involved in therapeutic communication with children, as well as having an emphasis on the developmental phases of infancy, young childhood and adolescence.

• Apply psychodynamic concepts to your current work place practice.
• Gain a foundation for thinking about your work with children from a psychodynamic perspective.
Is this course for you?
•Aimed at staff who work directly with children and families in child and adolescent mental health services, social services, childrens’ centres, residential settings, nurseries, educational settings - special needs teachers, learning mentors or classroom assistants.
• Also suitable for candidates with experience but little formal professional qualification.
Time commitment
One year, 1.45pm - 5.00pm, Mondays

• Formal written submissions.
