Regional Continuing Professional Development Project

This project forms part of the Trust's overall national educational strategy. To deliver a range of training opportunities throughout the regions. The project aims to promote and support the development of regional psychotherapy groups of senior clinicians, and to assist them in identifying training and service issues locally. It focuses particularly on developing their clinical skills, through the provision of a continuous professional development programme. An advanced CPD programme has now been established in Manchester, Leeds, Birmingham, Newcastle, and Lancaster and negotiations are underway for similar programmes in other regions. Senior clinicians from the Trust's Adult Department travel to these centres to deliver a programme of monthly seminars.

As well as working with senior clinicians, we provide a range of bespoke programmes to a wide variety of mental health workers, to contribute to the development of increased resilience in the workforce, and to support the development of robust capacities to tolerate the difficulties inherent in working with seriously disturbed patients.
