Course aims

• Develop forensic psychotherapy skills at suitable linked institutions, as well as being based at the Portman outpatient Clinic and the Three Bridges Medium Secure Unit, Ealing Hospital.

• Receive advanced training in the application of psychoanalytic principles to a variety of clinical and related settings in the forensic psychiatry field.

Is this course for you?

• Open to psychiatric trainees who have at least completed the MRCPsych examination and who may have previous experience at SHO level in either general psychiatry, forensic psychiatry or psychotherapy.

• This rotational training is approved by the Joint Committee on Higher Psychiatric Training at the Royal College of Psychiatrists.

• Designed to train for consultant psychotherapy posts in forensic psychiatry settings and leads to dual CCSTs in forensic psychiatry and psychotherapy.

• You need to be in personal analysis.

• Two posts are available in the North East Thames and North West Thames regions.

Time commitment
Five years, full-time. Integrated throughout.
