16 - 20 March 2009
Fee: tbc
Venue: Tavistock Clinic, London
In 2007 we held a successful intensive training course in work with under fives, bringing together professionals from different disciplines and settings, nationally and internationally. We are pleased to announce that the second Short Course will take place in Spring 2009.
This five day course aims to enhance the therapeutic skills of professionals working with infants or pre-school age children and their families, in health, social services, early years education and the private/voluntary sectors.
The programme will explore new themes within the successful format of the last course, with opportunities for small group discussion, team consultation and input on specialist areas of work. It will address the needs of those who choose to participate again, as well as first time attenders.
The course will focus on the Tavistock Clinic approach to work with under fives in a range of community and clinical settings. This involves an integration of psychodynamic concepts with infant observation and current child development research, elaborated in our recently published book - ‘What Can the Matter Be?’
The full programme will be available by the end of September 2008. Early booking is advised as places will be limited.
