Trauma Service

This is available to those who are having difficulties following a traumatic event, whether this was recent or in the past. Between one and five consultations are offered, with the aim of helping to integrate the event into the individual's life as a whole. Sometimes further psychotherapy within the Department will be suggested, this time with the goal of treating the individual rather than the trauma.

The Trauma Service also runs a Refugee Workshop, in which colleagues present for consultation their encounters with a limited number of traumatised asylum-seekers and refugees. The aim is to include such patients in the ongoing therapeutic work of the Adult Department, usually within therapy groups.
