The Monroe Young Family Centre is a joint venture between the Tavistock and Portman NHS Trust and the national children's charity, NCH.
The Centre works at the request of social services departments, and other parties to proceedings, usually with families with children under 5 years of age where there are complex family issues. This includes children who are considered to be at risk or who are in the care system, or there may be concerns about parental mental health.
Referrals are made and funded by the appropriate social services department and legally-aided parties to proceedings (contact Steve Bambrough 020 7431 5138 for details of costs).
The service is multi-disciplinary. It includes a consultant child and adolescent psychiatrist, family therapist, clinical psychologists, child psychotherapists, social workers and family support workers.
The Centre is self-contained with indoor and outdoor play areas.
