Tavistock Clinic: Adult Department

The Adult Department of the Tavistock and Portman NHS Trust is the single largest provider of outpatient psychotherapy within the NHS. The department offers treatments for patients within individual or group settings, over a variety of time periods and frequencies of patient sessions. Each contact starts with a consultation, the aim of which is to come to some understanding of the nature of an individual's difficulties, and to formulate with the individual an appropriate treatment plan.

The Adult Department sees patients aged 21 years and over (referrals of people aged 18 to 20 years should be made to the Adolescent Department). Referrals should be made by the patient's GP or other mental health professional.
