The Board of Governors has a central role in deciding the long term strategy for the Trust. Governors are guardians of the values and mission of the Trust and support the growth and the strengthening of its unique role as a mental health trust providing psychological treatments for patients of all ages. The Board of Governors also supports the Trust’s national education and training role, as well as its consultancy and research. The Board is key to protecting the Trust’s philosophy during challenging times for the NHS.
At the Tavistock and Portman NHS Foundation Trust, we see the establishment of the Board of Governors as a creative development that will effect meaningful dialogue and real change.
